Locks Changed, Rekey or Replace?

Our process for changing locks is very efficient. We will usually rekey your existing locks and provide you a new set of keys.

Rekeying is done by replacing the pins inside the lock cylinder. Replacing the pins is like changing the combination of the lock. A new set of pins is used that will only open with your new keys.

It is no longer possible for your old keys to open the lock. A lock rekey is often more cost effective then replacing the lock or barrel.

Depending on the type of lock we may replace the lock cylinders with new ones. Replacing the lock cylinders is often faster then rekeying a lock. Often we will replace cylinders in security doors instead of rekeying them.

Need a replacement lock?

If your locks need replacing due to damage or wear we carry a wide range of replacement locks for doors used in Brisbane. These locks include commercial grade lever handle locks, Deadlocks, Entry door lock sets, screen door locks, padlocks and sliding door locks.

Key alike and Master key

Our locksmiths will ususally key alike your locks while they are being changed. Keying alike locks allows all the locks to be operated by the one key. This cuts down the number of keys you have to carry on your key ring.

If you have a commercial premises it is often more practical to Master Key your locks. Master keying provides a way permit people to open only the doors you want them to have access to. The manager may have access to all doors with staff only access to the main doors and their office.
